2021.10.21 11:02 aikotoma Working in the military is just a job that does not deserve any more praise or special treatment.
Okay hear me out, i know i'm going to get hate for this but that's the idea of this sub right?
Being a soldier is just a job. you get paid for doing your job. You're not serving the country any more then garbage men or teachers do. Special treatment for soldiers is idiotic and weird. Like i said, it's just a job.
That said, the military should take care of it's employees while they are working for them. The military should also provide help if the employee suffers in one way or the other from a work related incident during their time in the military. But every employer should do this!
Joining the military is a choice. In my country, you're not forced to go. So why would i treat you in a special way for making that choice? No i won't give you a discount, no i won't thank you because no one ever thanks me for doing my job so why would i thank you? No one thanks the supermarket employee for their service. But what if that employee wasn't there?
You chose to work in the military. If you're not happy with what you're left with, it's an issue between you and the military. Not enough money? Any traumatic experiences? Go talk to your boss or don't take the job! it's what everyone else does!
And no, it is not a public service and you are not protecting me from shit. The military is just an employer like all the other goverment branchers or employers. Our military is quite small so they wouldn't be able to do anything if anyone attacks us. And I don't think that shooting some afgbans is necessary. If you don't give them a reason the be mad at you, they won't get mad at you. They only attack country's that attack them! They bombed the shit out of Europe because we thought that it would be a good idea to go over there and shoot them!
I'm sorry if I made any or a lot of mistakes. English is not my first or second language, so I'm sorry if that made it difficult to read.
In short: military personal are working for the goverment, not serving the county

2021.10.21 11:02 NYCVG $500.00 Reward to Get Your Shot! Or, Starve...
https://twitter.com/NYCMayorsOffice/status/1450867772834164736 Not a joke. A $500.00 debit card or end of paycheck.
All NYC workers---Police, Fire, teachers, health care, Office workers..... must obey vaccine mandates or NO PAY FOR YOU.
No more weekly test options. Hardline.
The newest Talking Point is "What's the big deal? We have aways had vaccine mandates?"
Not for barely tested and not proven safe and effective over time, we haven't.
This is more like the yearly flu shot where the public understands that each year the vaccine offered is the lab's best shot at mitigating this year's symptoms. Flu shots are a cholice.
Vaccine mandates are precedent breaking. Wrong. If it is as uncertain (it is) as the flu shots, we should have the same choice as we do concerning flu shots.

2021.10.21 11:02 Jayda_The_Spear_Lady So I played white 2 and here's some key points about my journey
Keep in mind I have only played this one and have barely started black and white
Neo team plasma is full of incompetent people who seem more interested in swearing allegiance to plasma and battling than actually stopping you, which when you think about it makes sense because this is a more dulled down team plasma with an insane man as the boss, and Colres isn't even bettersubmitted by Jayda_The_Spear_Lady to pokemon [link] [comments]
Hugh is a great mix of everything, he looks edgy but is actually a teammate who knows when to call for help, he started his journey for his sister not himself, you figure out why he jumps to conclusions giving him more character, and the part where he finally got that leopard only for him to mentally freeze got me especially since he questinonly tells you that neo team plasma will hurt more pokemon
Elesa can and will disorient your entire team if you aren't careful, her other models don't even come ad close to the level of screw you
Poke musical and pokemon movie studios is great for not following the objectives and doing random stuff like bringing in your oshawott for the superhero film and choosing the wrong script, making a mess of the original movie
please scroll over this part if you want to I probably shouldn't say this because of age differences but N is kinda hot, so is Hugh, which might mean I have semi edgy type preference
Ghetis literally tries to kill you with kyurem, proceeds to fight you without a warning with eeletross and a hydregion which hates him and has frustration, then has to be evacuated because honestly he probably would've drive that staff through your soul
*Trainers from the starting point of black and white can easily KO two legendaries

2021.10.21 11:02 TheHYPO Does anyone on this show ever think more than one day into the future?
This post is a bit tongue in cheek. I know it's a sitcom, and a 90s sitcom at that, so comedy comes before logic in a lot of cases, but it always bugs me so much when watching certain episodes that characters hatch a plan/scheme that ultimately crumbles, but that if it hadn't, really had no way of working on a long term basis.
As an example, the episode where Frasier asks Martin to let his opera crush's mother down easily, and he says he's gay. Then he plays it up with her uncle. Does no one appreciate that if Frasier actually hit it off with this woman, they are going to find out very quickly that Niles is Frasier's brother, not Martin's boyfriend, and that Martin is not gay, and probably be greatly weirded out and/or offended.
Similarly, when Roz and Daphne are fighting over Daphne's old boyfriend, and everyone is making up fake stories... Daphne realizes after inviting him for dinner that he's changed and she wants to be with him. Surely she must realize that the only way there is any possibility of that ever happening for more than 15 minutes would be to come clean and tell him the truth, but instead they continue the charade while she hits on him, ostensibly as a married woman, and fighting with Roz, who is posing as a Maris Crane, also married - though perhaps the long-term possibilities are less important to Roz.
Or the one where Frasier pretends to be Jewish for Faye's mom. He starts with "I'll take down the wreath", but it quickly transitions into "I'll explicitly pretend to be Jewish". Now maybe in that case, Faye doesn't have any issue telling her overbearing mother that Frasier was lying at her request further into the relationship, but again, it seems like it would not be terribly sustainable in a long term relationship.
At least in certain episodes, like Frasier's gay boss, they play it so that Frasier doesn't realize what's happening until the end, and then pretty quickly explains it.
I chalk this up to the combination of older sitcoms never thinking beyond the joke, as well as I think there was more of a conceit in the pre-2000s that not every lie about one's life was so easily verifiable with a quick internet search. People far more often made up lies about themselves to get dates (not that it doesn't occur anymore, but far less since many lies are so easily found out). Nevertheless, whenever I see such a plot on Frasier, which seems even more than many other sitcoms of the era, it takes me out of the episode a bit.
